Interview tomorrow
Aug. 3rd, 2003 09:51 pmIn a positive change of events, I'm interviewing with Bethel Park (yes kids, the same district as Independence Middle School) for a high school position. I haven't heard from the elementary principal yet, and who knows when I will, but I heard from the HR Dir.'s secretary that the HS position was open. I know the band director, and he's highly active in the interviewing process, and he called me to set up an interview: Tomorrow, noon.
The job would be like this: 2 periods 9th grade band, 3 periods music tech., and for second semester I think it's still band, one period tech, plus one period music appreciation, and one period 9th grade stage (jazz) band.
The director, Dave Buetzow, has seen me direct; I worked with his band rehearsing my master's thesis composition. I'm fluent in Finale and have been around other music sequencing and software programs. I have ton-o'-CMU jazz band experience. My challenge for this moment is not to get too excited. I think I'd truly love this job and be really good at it to boot, and I need to keep a cool head and be ready for a bunch of questions that may seem out of the blue, as per my Mt. Lebanon experience. But damn, it'd be sweet.
