Ok [livejournal.com profile] sk4p, if that doesn't swell your ego, nuthin will.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, please note the author of this post.

Now, note the day posted.

Yes, it is Saturday.

And I'm on an Imac. Purple even. :-)

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sk4p, my sweetie and I now have a real-life personal computer to use, even if it is only on loan. Many thanks, props, and mad skillz to my homey for settin' us up to da tee. I'll now be able to check LJ more than once per school vacation, along with email and other handy modern electronic communications.

In a word, yay!

Things at IMS are winding down. The kids' last day in the classroom is Thur., June 5th. The 6th is Kennywood day, and I'm not even planning anything remotely important on the Thursday, either. And remember all that time I mentioned having for the entiiiiiire grading period, and how much more I'd be able to do with this group of kids? Heh. Heh-heh. *snort*>chuckle<. ...*sigh* Yeah, right. While I did get in the two academic/historic units in (the star-spangled banner and George Gershwin), I am actually behind on rhythmic stuff, and have to skip over a couple of things that I really wanted to do. Other teachers, when hearing this, have been very understanding and quickly reassure me that I ain't the only one who's had that happen before, now, or in the future. So, should I become lucky and get this job full time (injured teacher update: He's definitely *not* coming back, so I just need to get my ass in line to get this job. other updates when they happen.), I'll know more about what to trim and cut so that I can get to all of what I'd like.

In other news, the munchkin sometimes known as Turkey-butt is as cute as ever so long as she's not fighting off sleep. I'm continually in awe of this little person who Jenn and I are responsible for making and responsible for, in general. That, plus we're dying to know what she's gonna be like when she's older! I'll ramble more about that later.

Last night was fun. Not only did [livejournal.com profile] sk4p set us up as mentioned earlier, but the whole reason for his being here was to have a guys-night-in for video games, which included [livejournal.com profile] el_gecko. After the Imac was up, purring, and [livejournal.com profile] sk4p warped me with movies that he left on this machine, I proceeded to paste him in Madden 2003, nearly by accident. We only played two 7-minute quarters because [livejournal.com profile] el_gecko never played Madden before, and because he brought the Activision Anthology. Yes, many, many oooooold Activision games that we remembered playing nearly 20 years ago to an all-80s soundtrack! (Honestly, the soundtrack makes the game. Being able to play "Boxing" to Twisted Sister's "We're not gonna take it" just ruled). And the way you knew the game was over? The little "Copyright 1983" at the bottom of the screen. Classic. We're borrowing it, too (hee-hee) (at least until we have a copy).

Well, though not entirely making up for over a month's lack of posting, I think I've said enough for right now. More postings to come more regularly, I swear.
