My birthday approacheth

raystrobel47Yep, tomorrow I turn 34. Yi-hi, daddy-o, I know. Currently I'm trying to stave off a cold that will otherwise leave me miserable and possibly calling off tomorrow. Just the present I didn't want...
Today's been wierd. I went to a funeral viewing for a music teacher who died due to complications from routine heart surgery. I taught with her at Independence MS when I subbed at Bethel Park, and the news really shocked and upset me. I saw some teachers I knew there, paid my respects, and left. It felt good to at least show up and be there. It's really sad.

lstrobel's been most the whiny little one lately, and I'm not sure why. Although we did have a good time both sitting in the papasan while I read her her alphabet book, and she did a really good job of dressing herself for bed (sweatshirt, pants, socks, and slippers), it's kinda been a tough kid day.
Earlier this morning I talked for a good 40 minutes to my dad, which was really nice. We rarely have those kind of talks, mostly because when I call, I talk to my dad and my mom, and my mom tends to talk more. So, I called him up and just chatted away for a while, which we both enjoyed very much.
I want. The rain. To stop.
Getting back to my birthday-thang, I hope to see folxes over on Tuesday, and appearantly my lovely and wonderfulfiannaharpar has made plans, but being a good husband, I've no fricking clue what they may be, so I'll just say that it'll be fun to celebrate with whoever is here, and I really feel most lucky to have the friends that I do, both in the Pittsburgh area and across the US. Wow, is that a run-on sentence or what?!?
