Uppity!

Just saw Up! at the "Dependable Drive-In" in Moon township with my wife and daughter, and were able to convince [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin and [livejournal.com profile] cassildra to join us. Great movie. Great story, with wonderful storytelling moments. No spoilers here, just recommendations. My sweetie has pronounced that we shall be owning this movie, oh yes we shall. And the drive-in experience was way cool. We were pretty far back, but still had a good enough view of the screen, and we feasted on home-popped popcorn, soda, watermelon, yummy flavored Pringles (Mexican layered dip??!?) and mini-cookies! Oh, and the rain waited until the very end to start drip-drip-dripping. Pookie did fabulously, especially for getting home at almost midnight! 'Twas a good Friday night, and a great movie experience. Now, go out and see it!!

Guilty confession:

I am, for the first time, watching "Wierd Science."

Not quite as much as I wanted to have met my eye

Just finished watching "Transformers" on DVD, and yes, my sweetie got me the transforming dual DVD case! Yay! The movie was still great, and [livejournal.com profile] fiannaharpar got to see it for the first time. We popped in the 2nd DVD to check out the cool extras. Characters, storyline, training, yeahyeahyeah...

No robots.

I want scenes about designing the damn robots- you know, the cool toys??? They have alllll that eye candy with the jumping transformation scenes in slo-mo, and I want to see more! Is that too much to ask? All the special effects, updating the robot characters, where iz it???

...But then I'm a fanboy.

Bloggable

  • This morning we got Lake to say "Tagliabue".

  • [livejournal.com profile] chemguy2004 and [livejournal.com profile] celebrin are not involved in a web of shame. They are, in fact, part of a striaght line of decency.

  • Do not walk into a cloud of exhaled kielbasa-and-saurkraut-ness. It's dangerous.

  • WINE!!!!!!

  • The Incredibles is a frickin' awesome movie, and it is so ours once it comes out on DVD.

    Thankful Three

    1. For the music of Ray Charles. That's what I say.

    2. For the opportunity to spend time today with my wonderful wife and see a movie (in a theater, mind you) (or, for [livejournal.com profile] fraterrisus, /thee-ay'-tur/ ;-})for the first time in frickin' forever.

    3. For Lake's excitement and pride in naming the parts of my face correctly, and knowing the words for some of them. It do my heart good.
